The Aztecs believed in the prophecy that in the year 1519
[their god Quetzalcoatl would return (disastrous proverbs overuse)
so when on March 4, Hernán Cortés landed in Mexico
[set foot on the beach of modern-day Veracruz
with only five hundred men because the thousands of Aztec warriors
[thought that Cortes was their God who had returned.
That caused the fall of the Aztec Empire, Mexico-T, Texcoco, and Tlacopan
[and the title of "The Lucky Victorious," Cortez easily earned.
Cortés was one of the first Spanish explorers, [beginning the first phase of the Spanish colonization of the Americas.
The exploits of Cortez was a feat as those in Greek mythology
[of Theseus and Hercules or Heracles.

The Aztec Empire, or the Triple Alliance (Classical Nahuatl: Ēxcān Tlahtōlōyān, [ˈjéːʃkaːn̥ t͡ɬaʔtoːˈlóːjaːn̥]), began as an alliance of three Nahua altepetl city-states: Mexico-Tenochtitlan, Texcoco, and Tlacopan. These three city-states ruled the area in and around the Valley of Mexico from 1428 until the Spanish conquistadores under Hernán Cortés defeated them.
