1518, The removal

Erasmus published his Colloquies (in Latin means a formal written dialogue),
[a work which explores man's reaction to others in a conversation.
An important part of his general written work which were read,
[is read and will be read, indeed an immortal creation.

Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus was a Dutch Christian Humanist
[who was the greatest scholar of the northern Renaissance
and his books to the national or religious or philosophical fanaticism
[was an astonishing written answer, a humanitarian response.

He prepared important Greek editions of the New Testament
[which raised questions that would be influential in the Protestant Reformation
but he remained a member of the Roman Catholic Church all his life,
[and in addition a great pacifist, an example for each state, for every nation.

His middle road ("Via Media") approach disappointed,
[and even angered, scholars in both camps.
The popularity of his books is reflected in the number of editions published*,
[and I guess every pacifist today, gives to Erasmus thanks.

It would be an omission if I did not mention in my work the theft from the net,
[ie the removal of the word "Greek" from the Erasmus's saying about his habits
"when I get a little money I buy Greek books and if any is left, I buy food"
[a word that Stefan Zweig mentions in his book and was stolen by complexes bandits.

* the number of editions published since the16th century,
