1508, Queen of the Adriatic

While Ponce de Leon explores and conquers Puerto Rico,
                          [same time, in the year one thousand five hundred and eight
in Europe begins a war sometimes known as the War of the Holy League
                                            [and it's end will take place in a very distant date.

Pope Julius II, intending to curb Venetian influence in northern Italy,

                                                                          [had created the League of Cambrai, 

an alliance consisting of himself, Louis of France, Ferdinand of Aragon
        [and Maximilian of Holly Empire, an anti-Venetian alliance, I would say.

The above allies were joined, at various times by more powers of Europe,

                                                                           [including Spain and England,

 the Duchy of Milan, Florence, the Duchy of Ferrara,

                                                                      [Swiss mercenaries and Scotland.

Clearly it was all against one and worth it to see who was this great one.

Once upon a time one group of hunted people

          [moored on 118 small islands and finally found a place in the sun.

Was Venice, been known as the La Dominante, City of Masks

                      [Queen of the Adriatic, City of Bridges and maybe some more.

Over the centuries, City of Canals has becοme

          [international financial center and powerful state at sea and ashore.
