Antonio Pigafetta was an Italian who paid a large sum to accompany Magellan
                                        [and remained beside him until the great explorer's death.

He and the other 17, headed by Juan S. Elkano, were the only ones
                             [to survive the mission and the first to complete a tour the earth.

Explorer Pigafetta who died in the of year 1531, was a Venetian intellectual,
                   [born in Vicenza, Italy and studied astronomy, geography and cartography.

He had a naval experience as part of the crew on the ships of the Knights of the order
                                           [of the Saint John of Rhodes, according to the bibliography.
