She was the only one of Henry VIII’s wives
[to be buried at Westminster Abbey and her tomb
is on the south side of the High Altar, the luckiest of his wives,
[as she was never found, in a scaffold or in a courtroom.
On this day in history, the 16th July 1557 (some sources say the 15th),
[ex Queen Anne of Cleves died at her home, but her kindness still survives.
She was only 41 but she was the last surviving wife of Henry VIII
[and had survived marriage to the King known for beheading two of his wives.
God rest your soul Queen Anne of Cleves,
[I wonder if Henry ever had nightmares over his cruel actions,
including me, I guess that millions of people have questions and queries,
[expressing doubt, uncertainty, or an objection about those inhumane royal reactions.
