1516, I would say a little warmer Cold War

Jeremiah 48:42    Revelation and Jeremiah
foresee Armageddon raging in the Middle
East following a huge war….

In July of 1516, Selim I of the Ottoman Empire
[declares war on the Mamluk Sultanate of Cairo and invades Syria,
a point in the Middle East where armies battled over time,
[actually one in permanent turmoil, a troubled area....

The Mamluk Sultanate (Egypt, the Levant, and Hejaz)
                                                           [lasted until the Ottoman conquest....

Throughout the centuries in the Syrian lands
[they have fought dozens of armies from the east and the west,
as Sumerians, Akkadians, Hittites, Egyptians, Greek, Romans, Crusaders,
[Arabs, French, Turks, British, Americans and Russians maybe more !!

Today in the twenty-first century a bunch of armies fighting hard
[in the same territories, I would say a little warmer Cold War
between unspecified rivals so that the whole scene resembles
[the unidentified armies mentioned by George Orwell in his book "1984"*

It is most likely that some soldiers fighting in this strange war,
[do not know the reason they were sent for.
