1512, A secure path between the continents

Like a fairy tale, once upon a time,
[particularly in the year 1512, ie this year,
a man was born who when he grew up would take a knife,
[and peel back the land, give to the seafarers the gear
to unite the whole world and to improve the living level,
[but unfortunately it was done numerous times violently,
a historical fact that we avoid mentioning,
[and when we do this we do as much as we can silently.

This man with the knife was none other than the Gerardus Mercator,
[a Flemish cartographer, mathematician and philosopher
who in this invention made safe the navigation,
[which was much more difficult then, much tougher.

The great invention was the projection
[of the round earth in planar panel !!

Thus were created the famous "Mercator maps",
[a secure path between the continents, a communication channel.

*Gerardus Mercator (born 5 March 1512) was a 16th-century German-Flemish cartographer, geographer and cosmographer. He was renowned for creating a world map based on a new projection which represented sailing courses of constant bearing (rhumb lines) as straight lines—an innovation that is still employed in nautical charts.
Mercator was one of the founders of the Netherlandish school of cartography and is widely considered as the most notable representative of the school in its golden age. In his own day he was the world's most famous geographer....
